Original Oil Paintings

I grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. Most of my art reflects the surreal aspects of nature that are found in this region. My paintings are impressionistic in character and I emphasize the emotional tones of a scene. Sweeping skies, rugged terrain and ancient forests are depicted in vibrant colors with sweeping undertones. I emphasize specific environmental elements and even reflections on weather. The eastern coastal region of the south Brunswick islands is also a source of inspiration for many of my compositions.

 I am a self taught artist. The ability that I have is a gift from God. Therefore, I put a cross in each and  every painting to honor Christ.

 I paint what I feel with any particular scene. I use varying degrees of light, intense colors and exaggerated shapes to depict those feelings  on canvas. I hope you experience the same excitement with each painting as I have.
