Original Oil Paintings

Growing up in the foothills of North Carolina, I spent a lot of my life in the Blue Ridge Mountains. My paintings reflect the local nature as presented in the mountains and  valleys that comprise the area known as the High Country of NC. The rapid weather changes and the rhythms of 4 distinct seasons are apparent throughout my work. Snow covered barns, blue lakes and white water rivers are the inspiration for most of my subjects. I've spent a lot of time on the East Coast and many of my works originated from those experiences as well. 

I am a self taught artist. The ability that I have is a gift from God, therefore I put a cross in every painting to honor Him. Some are visible under my signature; others are hidden so the viewer can search for them.

I paint exactly what I see with heavy textures, light and intense color. I hope you experience the same entertainment, peace and joy with each painting as I have.
